Following recent long-term trials, EmiTel (Warszawa, Poland) has chosen VDL (Lyon, France) Multiplexing equipment for Polskie Radio

Following recent long-term trials, EmiTel (Warszawa, Poland) has chosen VDL (Lyon, France) Multiplexing equipment for Polskie Radio (Warszawa, Poland) DAB+ digital radio network roll out across the major cities in Poland.

Digital radio in Poland will increase coverage in another six cities. As a result, Polskie Radio programmes should be available in digital form to 30 percent of Poles by the end of the year.

The process of digitisation started on 1 October 2013, and digital radio is now available to inhabitants of four cities in Poland. Since October 2013, Polskie Radio has been broadcasting DAB+ services in Katowice and Warsaw. From 1 August 2014, the coverage was extended to Wroclaw and Szczecin. In October 2014, DAB+ will be launched in Lodz and Opole. Gdansk, Kielce, Krakow and Poznan should be covered not later than January 1st 2015.

Full national coverage is planned in 2020.
